Load extension behavior of spun sewing threads on seam slippage

چکیده
The present research is focused to develop the relationship between seam slippage and mechanical properties of sewn fabric by considering spun thread configuration in stitched assembly. Plain twill weave was used for sample development stitch with while sewing machine setting kept constant produce a balanced seam. Different samples are prepared warp weft direction investigation superimposed, flat, bound classes multi-thread chain, lock, cover stitches. Experiment findings highlight optimum load N at 6 mm opening assembly employing mentioned types. results showed that 189.97 maximum found plain flat lock 80.65 minimum chain stitch. For 94.72 observed 200 reported Established have significant coefficient determination (R2 0.90) extension both directions. provides guidelines select which possessed (%) against respective (N) overcome garment.

Seam Puckering Objective Evaluation Method for Sewing Process
The paper presents an automated method for the assessment and classification of puckering defects detected during the preproduction control stage of the sewing machine or product inspection. In this respect, we have presented the possible causes and remedies of the wrinkle nonconformities. Subjective factors related to the control environment and operators during the seams evaluation can be red...

Weaving a Tapestry from Threads Spun by Geneticists: The Series Perspectives on Genetics, 1987-2008.
The Perspectives column was initiated in 1987 when Jan Drake, Editor-in-Chief of GENETICS, invited Jim Crow and William Dove to serve as coeditors of "Anecdotal, Historical, and Critical Commentaries." As the series evolved over 21 years, under the guidance of Crow and Dove, the input of stories told by geneticists from many countries created a panorama of 20th-century genetics. Three recurrent...
متن کاملUnraveling the mechanical properties of composite silk threads spun by cribellate orb-weaving spiders.
Orb-web weaving spiders depend upon the mechanical performance of capture threads to absorb the energy of flying prey. Most orb-weavers spin wet capture threads with core fibers of flagelliform silk. These threads are extremely compliant and extensible due to the folding of their constituent proteins into molecular nanosprings and hydration by a surrounding coating of aqueous glue. In contrast,...
متن کاملThe effect of insect surface features on the adhesion of viscous capture threads spun by orb-weaving spiders.
Spider orb-webs intercept a broad range of insects and their capture threads must adhere to a range of surface textures. In species of the Araneoidea clade, these capture threads are composed of viscid droplets whose size and spacing differ among species. To determine how droplet profile and insect surface texture interact, we measured the stickiness of viscous threads produced by four species ...
